Spardha Bharathanatyam Method Book 5
About The Course
If your child is serious about pursuing dance, then Spardha Bharathanatyam Method Book 5 is the course to take! This is a pre professional course designed for students with 4-5 years of dance experience or someone with ISTD Grade 4 qualifications. During this course, students will learn an entire margam of Bharatahatyam (or set of 10 items - including Pushpanjali, Alarippu, Jathiswaram, Shabdam, Kauthuvam, Varnam, Ashtapadi, Padam, Keerthanam, Thillana and Mangalam). This course will also enable students to perform Arangetram or Ranga Pravesh. This means the students will be able to perform a solo 3 hour recital with live orchestra accompaniment before an invited audience.
Prerequisites
- 4 to 5 years of dance with good stamina
- ISTD grade 4 would be appreciated but not necessary
- Good foundational form

Learning Outcomes You Can Expect
- demonstrate the margam in front of an invited audience on stage
- perform with CD music/live music
- handle the dynamics of stage space, lights and long duration dancing in makeup and costume
- learn to team play and learn how to mime, use scripts to engage the audience and perform a high quality show
- perform the arangetram which is a life changing and elevating experience
- be prepared to clear ISTD grades above level 4.
