About The Course
If your child has been learning Carnatic Vocals for more than 6 months and has mastered the basics up to the foundation level, then the Spardha Carnatic Vocals Method Book 1 course is perfect for them. In this course, they are
introduced to Carnatic swara pattern exercises that aid voice culture.
They'll learn Alankarams in seven talas, Geethams in different ragas, Nottuswarams and more. The course also focuses on strengthening the foundation of Carnatic Vocals, giving your child the opportunity to not only sing but learn
about the importance of Carnatic Music in Indian culture. It's a great way for them to take their vocal skills to the next level!
Prerequisites
- Ideal age of student - 8 years or above
- Should have sound knowledge of skills covered in Spardha Carnatic Vocals Foundation Course

- History of Trinity of Carnatic Music
- Differences in Carnatic & Hindustani music
- Basic concepts of Nada, Swara and Swarasthanas, Suladi Saptha Thalas
- Types of Geethams
- 7 Alankarams
- 2 Nottuswaras
- Basic Introduction to 8 simple Ragams
- Swara pattern exercises for voice culture
Learning Outcomes You Can Expect
- Understand the cultural significance of Carnatic music
- Learn fundamental concepts such as Nada, Swarasthanas, Suladi Saptha Thalas
- Basic understanding of 8 ragas and their raga lakshanas
- Flawless grip on swarasthanas and tala
- Sing all 11 geethams in swara and sahithyam
- Sing both the Nottuswarams with correct swarasthanas and Tala.
