ISTD Grade 1
About The Course
Kathak certification course offered by the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance, London, UK. After completing the Method Book 1 syllabus, an additional 2-3 months of classes will prepare your child to appear for the ISTD Grade 1 exam.
In these additional classes, the student learns Nritta Hastas from the book 'Ang Kavya' written by Pt. Birju Maharaj, a footwork pattern like Bant or Ladi, and additional Tihais. Your child will also gain basic knowledge of Kathak's rich history and practice creative exercises in a live exam setting.
Prerequisites
- 1+ year of dancing experience
- Knowledge of Taal Teentaal (Kramalaya, Todas, Chakradar Todas, and Tihais)
- Ability to dance on a lehra and perform a simple Abhinaya piece like a Bhajan
